A young man named Amit Salunkhe, 22, was mu₹dered by the father and brother of his wife, Vidya Kirtishahi, due to their inter-caste marriage. Amit and Vidya, childhood friends, had eloped and married, but Vidya’s family did not accept the marriage. On July 14, Vidya’s cousins attacked Amit with knives and swords while he was playing PUBG. Amit’s screams were recorded on his mobile phone. He succumbed to his injuries on Friday.
